MolLab ("we", "our", or "the app") is an educational 3D chemistry app for iPad and Mac. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles information when you use it.

We do not collect any personal information. MolLab has no user accounts, no login, and no advertising. Specifically:

No analytics or usage tracking: We do not collect analytics, usage statistics, or behavioral data.
No device identifiers: We do not collect device identifiers or location.
No personal data: We do not ask for or store your name, email, or any personal details.

Network Requests

To show real molecular and protein structures, MolLab retrieves data from public scientific databases:

PubChem (operated by the U.S. National Institutes of Health) — when you search for a molecule by name or formula, only that search term is sent to retrieve its 3D structure.
RCSB Protein Data Bank — when you load a protein or nucleic acid, only the PDB identifier you enter is sent to retrieve its structure.

These requests contain only the chemical name or identifier you choose to look up. No personal information is included or transmitted.

Camera (Augmented Reality)

On iPhone and iPad, MolLab can use the camera to display molecules in augmented reality. The camera feed is used only to render the AR view in real time. No images or video are captured, stored, or transmitted.

Data Storage

App preferences (such as your language choice) and any structure files you choose to import or export are stored only on your device. We do not have servers that store your data.

Children's Privacy

MolLab is suitable for all ages and does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
